Without an extended warranty, you may be surprised by how much you'll end up paying out of pocket. Five years is a long time!

At My eBike Shield, a division of Evolution Bikes Corporation, we begin by manufacturing e-Bikes and collaborating with Italian, German, British, and Chinese suppliers to deliver high-quality products. Through these partnerships, we have gained extensive knowledge of the e-Bike technology. Our extended warranty plan premiums are based on a fair risk assessment conducted by a qualified actuary. For e-Bikes priced under $4,000 MSRP, we offer a fixed cost. For higher-priced e-Bikes, the pricing may vary depending on the model, the selected warranty plan, and any additional coverage options. In such cases, we encourage you to contact us directly—but first, please complete your free registration form to get started.

What exactly does the My eBike Shield extended warranty cover and not cover?

The warranty likely covers major electrical and mechanical components of the e-Bike, such as the motor, battery, controller, braking system, derailleur, sensors, etc. Look at the detailed chart. There are likely exclusions, like previous incidents or depreciation applicable for wear and tear items like tires and brake pads, as well as damage caused by accidents or misuse.

About the consumable parts, a good example is the battery. We calculate a standard depreciation of 20% per year from manufacturing date, signifying normal consumption for the battery. In effect, we replace the remaining life of a consumable.

How does the claims process work?

You need to contact My eBike Shield by filling out the "File a Claim" registration form on this website to get a repair authorization number from us. As soon as we receive your claim, we will assign you a repairer near you. You will simply bring your e-Bike there, and we'll take care of the bill.

 

Can I choose my own repair shop or do I have to use a My eBike Shield-approved repairer?

It's highly likely you'll need to use a My eBike Shield-approved repairer for repairs to be covered under the warranty, but we can make exceptions in certain cases, like for a particular brand of e-Bike or if there are no participating bike shops in your area, etc.

Is My eBike Shield available in my area?

My eBike Shield claims to offer nationwide coverage in the US and Canada with nearly 700 bike shops, but it's always good to check the availability of approved repairers in your specific area.

Why is there a 30-day waiting period?

We understand that waiting, especially when it involves a potential issue with an e-Bike, can be frustrating.

A key reason for the 30-day waiting period is to deter warranty fraud and help us to keep our Protection Plans affordable. Some people may be tempted to get coverage only after something goes wrong with their e-Bike. However, our protection plans don't cover pre-existing issues, hence the waiting period.

This helps prevent fraudulent claims for e-Bikes that already have problems. Some repairs, particularly for high-end models, can be very costly, making fraudulent coverage a tempting prospect for some.
